interesting philosophical take on things. in my case, I have been shooting since I was a kid: nerf, airsoft, paintball, pellet, blowdarts, slingshots, rubber band, homemade crossbows, bows and arrows, etc. getting a pistol was the natural progression of things. it makes me feel a lot safer at home having one around. it is one of those things, it is good to have when you need to have one, an insurance policy. glocks are a good one to start off with, although I personally like sigs for their build. 9mm HP is my defensive load of choice.

The instructor I've been in touch with says he has a 9 mm Glock to loan me for my first class. He said I needed to get my own ammunition. I stopped by Walmart yesterday, and the ammo shelves were bare. The lady behind the counter said that when they get shipments in from suppliers, they fly right out again.
